Cleveland improved upon its four wins of 2008, but not by much, winning five games last year. They did, however, win their last four" games in a row. The Browns ranked last in the league in offense last year and 31st in defense, and that's not a good combo. Then this offseason, the Brownies brought in Mike Holmgren to run the show, but not coach -which seems strange. Holmgren promptly dumped QBs Derek Anderson and Brady Ouinn, and brought in Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace. But is that an upgrade? The Browns ranked eighth in the league in rushing at 130 YPG, but their QBs combined for an 11/17 TD/INT ratio and couldn't even complete half their passes. Defensively, Cleveland ranked 28th vs. the run (145 RYPG) and 29th vs. the pass (245 PYPG), so they went defensive secondary with their first two picks in the draft. The Browns are still lacking at several spots, especially WR and along the D-line.
